Brunel Professional Risks has won the British Insurance Awards – Commercial Lines Broker of the Year – SME/mid-corporate award for 2013.
The prestigious national award was presented to Brunel’s managing director, Russell Lane by comedian Jimmy Carr at a sparking awards ceremony at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 4 July in front of an audience of 2,000 insurance industry professionals and guests.
Now in their 19th year, the British Insurance Awards represent “the pinnacle of achievement in the UK market, rewarding outstanding performance across the insurance industry.” This is third year running that Brunel has been a finalist in these prestigious awards which are open to every insurance broker in the UK.

The Commercial Lines Broker of the Year – SME/mid-corporate category is awarded to the UK’s insurance broking business that has demonstrated the best product and service innovation over the previous 18 months. This includes the development of long term relationships with clients, niche markets and insurers, identifying and effectively addressing special needs in the market or extending the range of added-value support services offered to customers.
Brunel’s success recognises its continued innovation and growth over the last 18 months, including major business and service developments:
- Product innovation – launching a successful wholesale broking service and extending its bespoke insurance policy wordings to more clients.
